Where Sweeter Rains Fall on BBC1
On Sunday 6th March Rob will be appearing on BBC1′s Songs Of Praise with Si Hayden playing ”Where Sweeter Rains Fall”
Taken from Rob’s latest CD, ‘The Perils, The Grace and The Way’, the song was written after Rob visited Bangladesh and saw local men trying to save their lands from rising water levels.
“Bangladesh is basically a huge river delta” explains Rob. “when the tide goes out, these guys dig huge pits at the waters edge and carry the mud back to the bank to build protective dykes. When you see the size of the rivers, the work these guys do seems almost pointless but they carry on. [they are] Amazing people who hold themselves like kings despite their poverty.”
