Singer/songwriter Rob Halligan is an award winning international artist. He has worked and recorded with an array of talent such as Graeme Duffin and Sandy Jones (Wet Wet Wet), Bob Halligan Jr (Judas Priest, Cher), After The Fire, Simon Goodall (Cliff Richard) and Paul Evan (Delirious). His 2009 album Best Thing That’s Happened was nominated Contemporary Album Of The Year. His latest album, The Perils the Grace and The Way has received excellent reviews and BBC Radio 2 airplay. So far in 2011 he’s appeared on BBC1 and Radio 2, ITV’s Daybreak and a list of local radio stations.
In the late 1990’s Rob started playing the local pub circuit with his band, Goldsmiths, delivering their own brand of indie-pop-rock. Their CD, IknowYouknow released in October 1999 won some excellent reviews. The band played some noteworthy venues including the Sanctuary in Milton Keynes and the Coventry Colloseum.
Rob’s life took a new direction after the death of his father in the terrorist events of 9/11 and this would be evident in his writing. He explores forgiveness and reconciliation with songs that challenge faith, politics and complacency and are delivered with a rough spirituality, brutal honesty and tested to be true. He sings of his experience of life on the streets to his work with the homeless and his work with charities in developing countries; all these stories make their way into song.
‘Dancing With Seagulls’ Rob’s first solo project, produced by Simon Goodall received praise from the music press. “An excellent album” raved CrossRhythms while the Phantom Tollbooth called it “…a pleasant and welcome musical treat!” Radio 2 presenter Paul Gambaccini, commented, “These are some of the strongest songs I’ve heard for a while”.

Rob has now played at some of the finest acoustic venues and festivals in the UK including the MAC in Birmingham, Warwick Arts Centre, the Stables, The Norwich Arts Centre and The Lot in Edinburgh. He has twice headlined at the Godiva Festival (the largest free festival in the midlands) and played the Acoustic Festival of Britain. He also sings with 1980’s hit makers After The Fire.  … “The question remains that why have such artists as Rob never gained the exposure he sorely deserves?
